Western Center for Archaelogy and Paleontology
The Western Center for Archaelogy and Paleontology
A funny thing happened 10 years ago when the Metropolitan Water District started drilling 270-feet below the earth's surface to build Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet, Caliornia to generate electricity. They found incredible mastodon bones and artifacts dating back more than 230,000 years. Now that's what you call a find!Construction immediately stopped as an awed group of scientists rushed to the site to uncover and preserve these extremely rare Ice Age treasures before the lakebed was permanently flooded. Some of their unbelievable findings (more than 1 million fossils and artifacts) are showcased in the new Western Center for Archaeology and Paleontology. (Excerpted from website)
In the museum they have an Upside Down Room. This is looking at a lake from the bottom of the lake....
And, lots of information on the area's history and building of the dams.

Bombs on Our Rooftop
Saturday night we had a great time at the RV park Hamburger Feed -- They were delicious along with all the homemade salads, side dishes and desserts. Homemade in an RV Park - Cool!!
We knew some wind was predicted and sure enough it hit about 10:30 to 11:00. Then the bombing started. A gust of wind, then bamb, bamb, bamb would come the bombs on our roof. Another gust of wind, then bamb, bamb, bamb. Finally, about midnight the wind let up.
The next morning we saw for ourselves the bombs. Prickly little things.

And all the leaves had come down also.
Here is the good news -- the tree is now bare. Wind or no wind the bombs are gone.

Some More Beautiful Birds
Lance did it again. Another great bird picture. It has a fish in its claw. We believe it is a hawk of some kind. Our bird book did not help much.
And, yet another Blue Heron
