Settled in at Valley View Texas (North of Dallas/Fort Worth)

We are half way between Gainesville and Denton Texas. So today we took a trip north to Gainesville. We discovered they had many, many lovely old homes.

This was in a outlet mall parking lot. I believe it to be a tornado warning siren. AAAHHHGGG!!

Went looking for a golf course. Turns out we are REAL close to Oklahoma.

This Oklahoma casino had a international flavor.

Then back on into Texas...

ANNOUCEMENT OF UPCOMING WEDDING

Yes, Tia and Aaron are getting married. They will tie the knot on July 16, 2009, in San Juan Puerto Rico. Lance and I plan to attend. It is just going to be a little ceremony, possibly on the beach. Tia & Aaron have the traveling bug so this does not surprise me. We are very excited for them. YOU GO TIA...YOU GO AARON.

Introducing Ava Nalani Forler

Lance and I are now Great Grandparents. Ava was born 4/21/09 at 12:47 am weighing 7 pounds 9 oz. to Ben, our grandson, and his wife, Jenesse.

You cannot believe it when you see it. They have HUGE horns. Yes, we know we are truly in Texas now.

Roses, Ho's and Cockroaches

Yes, we love this new lifestyle and I even got a huge bouquet of peach colored roses for Mother's Day. What a life!

We drive by this office whenever we go to the movies -- Star Trek and Wolverine were GOOD -- and I say to Lance, "Does that really say REPUBLIC PARTY HO?"

We have our ups and downs in our lovely motorhome just like all of you do in your regular homes. Today we had a visitor! He was about an inch and half long. Ugg!

More Buses and Bikes Here at Buckhorn RV Park - Kerrville TX

I believe there are between 55 and 60 Prevost customized buses with trailers here and the average bus and trailer runs 1 to 2 million dollars. Let's put it this way...your calculator probably will not have enough numbers to total the value of all of them.

The owner of this Prevost was flying a Marine Corp. flag. Turns out he was one of the six Marines who brought John F. Kennedy's body back to Washington D.C.

San Antonio - Part 2 - The River Walk

The story goes that in 1926 the city fathers were considering cementing over some of the river in San Antonio. Two sisters of the San Antonio Conservation Society "had a fit", put on a puppet show at city hall (about the goose that layed the gold egg) and took the commissioners on canoe rides to show them the river and to convince them to save it. It worked.

One place you can catch a boat is in the Riverwalk Mall. It is a great tourist attraction and after taking the boat tour I can see why. San Antonio have made it the place to see. And, for us seniors it is only $5 a person to take the boat.

There are old and new buildings, hotels and business along the river walk.

Because of the angle of this triangular building it looks like a single wall from the river. It is quite an optical illusion.

This crane as well as the ducks and squirrels have no fear of people along the walk.

At the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center this mural is on the facade of the Lila Cockrell Theater. The mural is called Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas was created by Juan O'Gorman as part of the 1968 HemisFair (the World's Fair).

The convention center actually is built over the river.

There is also an outdoor theater where the audience is on the other side of the river from the stage.
