A Tour of Savannah Georgia

It was HOT, really HOT!!! in Savannah the day we wanted to take a tour. We decided against the trolley in favor of our air conditioned car. Savannah is a beautiful city. We stayed in Hardeeville SC just over the Talmadge Bridge from Savannah. We went over it numerous times. I never got over my awe of its beauty.

Along the Savannah River is old town. A small one-way brick road (no, it is not yellow!!!) led us along the old stores and restaurants. It was very cool...well, hot...but cool!!!!

Throughout the City of Savannah are parks, called squares. They are lovely, green peaceful places right in the middle of everything. In the hot weather one of these parks would be a great refuge. Many of them had memorials or monuments.

The old houses were gorgeous. It is like you stepped back in time going through the residential areas.

The churches were also beautiful....wow!
